Gender equality in Delhi Police gets another edge-9 women SHOs to head city police stations

New Delhi, October 8

Delhi Police is setting a new gender equality roles as in a first capital city's police stations have nine women Inspectors taking charge of the police station as Station Head Officers (SHO). 

This is following the recent reshuffle where six women IPS officers are now heading the districts as deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) in Delhi Police.

Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthaana appointed eight women officers as SHOs. Out of the 55 SHOs appointed, 44 are inspectors who have been given the post for the first time.

The list has four women officers who will be holding the post of SHO for the first time.  

34 SHOs who had already served more than five years on the post have been sent to different units. 18 Inspectors have been posted in the security wing and eight in police training college.
