Militants lob grenade at BJP leader's house in J&K, leaving three-year-old child dead

New Delhi, August 13
In a horrifying incident, militants lobbed a grenade at the residence of a BJP leader in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.
The attack left a three-year-old child succumbed to the injuries.
The police said that Veer was among the seven members of BJP leader Jasbir Singh's family who were injured in the attack on his house in Khandli area of the district.
Veer succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the government medical college and hospital in Rajouri on July 13. Six others including some family members of Singh sustained injuries.
The BJP condemned the attack and appealed to the police to immediately arrest those responsible for it.
Singh was also injured in the attack. Soon after the attack, police and security force conducted searches in and around the town.
The People's Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) has claimed responsibility for the grenade attack. However, the claim is being ascertained by agencies.
Massive security has been deployed in Rajouri in the wake of the grenade attack at Jasbir Singh's residence.
Political leaders from various parties condemned the attack and demanded beefing up of security of the politicians in J&K and speedy investigations into the incident.
The attack has raised several questions as Kashmir DGP Dilbagh Singh had visited Rajouri days ago following arrest of militants recently.
