New Delhi, December 6
In a tragic and shocking incident from Aurangabad of Maharashtra, a 19-year-old pregnant girl was beheaded for eloping and marrying against their wishes.
The accused have been identified as Shobhabai Mote and her 18-year-old son. The duo were held from their residence in Ladgaon.
The police said that the mother-son duo even clicked a selfie with the beheaded body of the girl which was found from the boy’s phone.
The police said the victim Kirti Thore lived with her husband’s family in a room next to their farm. She was two months pregnant. The mother-son duo arrived on a bike at the farm where she was working.
When the girl took them inside her house for refreshments, the mother-son duo gagged her and then beheaded her. Kirti’s brother attacked her from behind with a sickle while their mother held her legs, police added.
The police added that after beheading her, he brought her head outside the house and clicked a selfie. The police have sent the phone for forensic analysis.
The officials added that Kirti had reportedly eloped with her college friend Avinash and they got married in June. Her family had lodged a missing complaint but a week later Kirti presented herself before the police and informed them about her marriage.
The police added that the girl’s family was completely against her marriage. Her father had left the house claiming that the village mocked him and returned several days later.
The police are probing further to ascertain if her father is also involved in this heinous act.
