The Mumbai Crime Branch arrested a minor girl for allegedly posting of her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend out of jealousy.
The accused is a 16-year-old girl. The police stated that the complainant, a 21-year-old girl, had broken up with the man after which he got into a relationship with the 16-year-old girl accused. All three are from the same locality.
The minor girl who was allegedly jealous of his previous girlfriend took her photos (when she was in a relationship with him) and posted on Instagram.
The police have registered an FIR in the case back in October. The police had gotten in touch with Instagram to delete the profile.
The cybercrime cell while investigating the case found out that the Instagram profile was made through the phone number used by the minor and arrested her.
The girl has been booked under sections 354 D (stalking), 509 (word, act or gesture intended to insult modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and 67 A (publishes or transmits or causes to be published or transmitted in the electronic form) of the Information Technology Act.
The police have sent the girl to a juvenile home at Dongri.
