Muslim man thrashed in Kanpur while toddler daughter cries for help, police arrest three

New Delhi, August 12
Distrubing were witnessed in Kanpur of UP where a Muslim man was allegedly paraded naked with chants of "Jay Shri Ram" from the mob that surrounded him while his daughter could be seen crying for help.
He was allegedly hit on the head with a helmet following which he fell on the ground and eventually thrashed.
The victim is a 45-year-old Muslim who drives an e-rickshaw for a living.
The Kanpur police have arrested three accused Ajay, Aman Gupta and Rahul Kumar.
As per a statement by DCP Raveena Tyagi earlier, the police and PAC force were deployed to control the situation.
A case was filed on the complaint of the man against some known and unknown persons. Speaking to the press in Kanour, DCP Tyagi had confirmed:
"A video of an incident that took place in Kacchi locality near Ram Gopal crossing under Barra police station surfaced. A man is being beaten up. Based on the complaint of the victim, an FIR was registered against some named and unnamed suspects. Further investigation is underway."
The sources claimed that the incident took place 500 metres from where the right-wing group Bajrang Dal held a meeting, in which they claimed that Muslims in the area were attempting to convert a Hindu girl in their locality. The incident is reported to have taken place right after the meeting.
The media in Kanpur reported that afer the accused were apprehended, the Bajrang Dal collected in protest outside the police station in Kanpur. The protestors left the site after they received affirmation of a fair probe by the police.
The police are further probing the case to ascertain the reason behind the incident.
