NIA conducts searches in four districts of J&K, arrests four in J&K terrorism conspiracy case

New Delhi, October 22

The NIA conducted searches at 11 locations in Srinagar, Pulwama, Kulgam and Baramulla Districts of Jammu and Kashmir and arrested four persons. 

The accused have been identified as Suhail Ahmad Thokar from Kulgam,  Kamran Ashraf Reshi from Hazratbal, Rayid Bashir  and Hanan Gulzar Dar from Srinagar. 

The NIA stated that the case relates to conspiracy  for undertaking violent terrorist acts in J&K and other major cities,   by cadres of proscribed terrorist organisations Laskhar-e-Taiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), Al Badr and similar other outfits and their affiliates including the Resistance Front (TRF), People Against Fascist Forces (PAFF) etc. 

The NIA had registered the case in October this year and initiated the investigation. They have arrested nine persons so far in this case by NIA.

The officials added that the searches conducted today have led to recovery and seizure of electronic devices and incriminating jehadi documents/ posters etc.

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the four accused persons arrested today are terror associates/OGWs of various proscribed terrorist organisations and have been providing logistical and material support to terrorists. 

The NIA is further investigating the case.
