North East Delhi Riots- Delhi Police Special Cell probe found one accused of stocking IEDs falsely implicated

In an important development in the North East Delhi riot case, the Special Cell of Delhi Police found Ansar Khan innocent who was held for stocking five IEDs in his house during the North East Delhi riots.

The police had arrested Ansar Khan for allegedly stocking five IED (Improvised Explosive Device) on his roof at Kardampuri during the riots.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police is investigating the conspiracy behind Delhi riots of 2020.

DCP (Special Cell) Pramod Kushwaha stated that during the investigation of the case, a source input was received during the initial investigation in May 2020 that a person namely Ansar Khan who used to live in Kardampuri had actively indulged in Delhi Riots in the month of February 2020. 

Ansar and his son Imraan were active participant in Delhi riots and had prepared and supplied bombs during the Delhi riots of Feb 2020 and are still preparing more and more such bombs for disturbing communal harmony.

As per input, after flaring up the riots in the area of Kardampuri the duo fled from Kardampuri in the month of June 2020, as questioning and apprehension of local miscreants and rioters of Kardampuri area gained momentum in May- June 2020.
The agency arrested Ansar Khan who originally belongs to Atrauali District - Aligarh ( UP) and was found presently living in Loni, Ghaziabad.

The officials added that Ansar Khan was examined for the verification of secret information. During examination, Ansar Khan feigned ignorance about any connection with Delhi riots. He was taken to his house at. Vijay Nagar Colony, in Ghaziabad for search. 

During the search of house of Ansar Khan five IEDs(Pipe bombs) were recovered from the rooftop. However, Ansar Khan denied having knowledge of the above mentioned suspicious articles and it was observed that some of the facts were not in sync with the flow of information.

The special cell when investigated this further, they learnt that one Mujammil Alvi from Nagar Colony in Ghaziabad had animosity towards Ansar Khan as he wanted to avenge perceived disgrace his family suffered at the hands of Ansar Khan.

Thereafter, Mujammil Alvi was examined about the recovery of suspicious articles. Antecedents of Ansar Khan didn’t corroborate with the original input of being involved in Delhi Riots. Subsequently, Mujammil Alvi, Ansar Khan and his sons Imran and Rehan were let go but investigation continued.

In light of new facts, Mujammil Alvi was again examined at his home during which he admitted that he had planted those suspicious articles on the rooftop of Ansar Khan. 

The police filed fresh complaint in Kotwali Loni for necessary appropriate action to be taken against Mujammil Alvi.

Mujammil has been booked under sections 286/336 IPC & 4/5 Explosive Substances Act 1908.
