Senior Delhi Police officers moved to Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram as DGP

New Delhi, January 29
Two senior IPS officers from Delhi Police will take up the state police chief posts from February.

Special Commissioner of Police Satish Golcha and Devesh Chandra Shrivastava have been transferred to Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh respectively. 

In a recent order from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Devesh Chandra will be the new DGP of Mizoram while Satish Golcha will be the new DGP of Arunachal Pradesh.

RP Upadhyay who was DGP Arunachal Pradesh has been transferred back to Delhi as DG Home Guards while SBK Singh who was DGP Mizoram has been also brought back to Delhi and presently posted in Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police.

A 1995 batch IPS officer, Devesh Chandra Shrivastava has served in EOW, Southern Range and Licensing Department of Delhi Police and also served in the Intelligence Bureau.

Satish Golcha is a 1992 batch IPS officer who has served key roles in Delhi Police handling the law and order and range divisions. Golcha has also served in the Delhi Crime Branch and supervised high profile cases.

During the Delhi North East area riots 2021, Golcha was the Special Commissioner heading the Delhi Crime Branch that carried out major arrests and ensured peace in the riot affected areas of Delhi.
