The Delhi Police Rohini District busted a fake call centre that lured people with automobiles offers

New Delhi, July 27
The Delhi Police busted a fake call centre from Rohini area of Delhi that was duping people with attaractive deals on automobiles.
The fake call centre was operating on second floor of premises No. B-6/174-175, Sector-8, Rohini.
The accused were identified as Rajan Kumar, Sonu Kumar both from Bihar, Jyoti from Mangolpuri, Sangeeta from Wazirpur, Dhanlakshmi from Shakurpur, Pushpa from Mangolpuri, Priya from Uttam Nagar.
The police recovered 12 Mobile Phones, five SIM Cards, nine Rubber stamps of Snap deal, Shop Clues, Naptol etc. and seven registers maintained for records, from their possession.
The police added that the accused duped innocent people by obtaining their bank details on the pretext that “they have won a Mahindra XUV 500 for RS 12,80,000/-however, they will have to pay 1% GST i.e. Rs12,800/- to avail the benefit”.
The police conducted a raid where police found accused speaking with customers, befooling them to avail a deceitful offer. The police registered a case under section 419, 420, 120B and 34 of the IPC.
According to the police, the common modus operandi used by these persons is that they use to collect the data of the customers specially of Tamil Nadu State from Snapdeal and by posing as employees of Snapdeal use to call them that “they have won Mahindra XUV 500 for RS 12,80,000/- ; however, they will have to pay 1% GST i.e Rs 12,800/- to avail the benefit”. Once the customer is convinced, they ask for Bank details, Adhar Detail, Pan Card and Photo and get the amount transferred in one of their account. All the accused females are originally from Tamil Nadu.
The police are further investigating the case.
