Three die in UP after consuming "Miss India" liquor

Three deaths have been reported from Bulandshahr of Uttar Pradesh after allegedly consuming spurious liquor.
The UP police said that from what appeared to be a one case turned out to be a case of more victims when they witnessed that the victim's had consumed a brand of liquor, ‘Miss India’.
It is the same brand of liquor that killed six in Bulandshahr in January too.
As per the case details, six people from Oledha village bought alcohol from a liquor shop situated in the area. Three persons who consumed it died in the following three days.
All six people bought the ‘Miss India’ brand liquor on the evening of August 14, said officials.
Talking about the victims, the police said that Nanak, who consumed this alcohol over two days, died Monday evening in his sleep. The deceased’s family told the police that they had assumed it was a heart attack. Another resident, Mukesh Kumar, died a day after Nanak.
The third victim, Harendra, was referred to a Delhi hospital as he became unwell after consuming the allegedly spurious liquor. He died Friday during treatment.
The police added that the three other persons who also consumed the same liquor are fine the police are inquiring about the food they consumed alongwith the alcohol to see if it was the food that troubled them.
