eew Delhi, December 6
Three of a family in Neb Sarai of South Delhi were killed by their own family member.
The victims have been identified as Rajesh Kumar Tanwar, 51, an ex Armyman, his wife Komal, 46, and their daughter Kavita, 23.
Initially, the murders were discovered in the morning after their son Arjun returned from his gym session. He had made a PCR call to report the crime.
Within hours of the triple murder, police arrested Arjun, a state level boxer.
Arjun slit the throats of his family — father, mother and elder sister Kavita.
DCP (South) Ankit Chauhan stated that a PCR call was received around 6.53 am. The crime and forensics team were also called to the scene to lift evidence. Prima facie, there is no ransacking at the spot.
Further investigation revealed that there were blood stains on the house keys and the key of his motorcycle which were found in his possession. Arjun was called for questioning during which he admitted to the crime, DCP further added.
The police recovered a sweatshirt from Sanjay Van. Arjun changed his clothes after committing the murders and dumped his sweatshirt in the bushes. He had dumped the knife too in Sanjay Van.
The probe revealed that Arjun had a strained relationship with his family and believed they preferred his sister over him and were going to transfer the family property in her name.
Rajesh had thrashed Arjun in front of the relatives some time ago and the family had a big fight on December 1 during his sister’s birthday party, following which he planned to kill his family, police added.
