A specialized hospital for Covid + Noida policemen underway at Greater Noida

The Noida Police in Gautam Buddhnagar have started a specialized hospital for frontline police Corona warriors of Noida police in Greater Noida. 

This is a 50 bedded hospital being constructed at Bhimrao Ambedkar SC ST Chatravas. 

Confirming the development, DCP (HQ) Nitin Tiwari said, “The hospital is underway at the SC ST Vidhyalaya in Greater Noida. It is a L1 category of hospital as per the government standards. The policemen will receive the respective treatment there”. 

The UP Government has been working at a three Tier system of Covid care hospitals wherein the L1 category is for those Covid patients who have mild fever, normal oxygen levels and normal blood report. The L2 category is for those who have other ailments and life style diseases while L3 is for critical care patients whose oxygen levels are low and they require ventilator support. 

DCP Tiwari added, “Since it’s a L1 category hospital, the policemen showing milder symptoms would be admitted here. The policemen will get all facilities over here and their health would be monitored 24/7 by the doctor and medical staff including an ambulance”. 

The hospital will be officially started on May 7 or May 8th in a virtual ceremony. 

119 policemen from Noida contracted Corona virus including IPS officer Ankita Sharma. However, Sharma, posted as ACP Noida has fully recovered from Covid. 

Inspector Satyendra Singh said, "This facility was thought of by Noida Police because the policemen get barracks to stay and get ready. Those who have tested positive cannot stay in those barracks to prevent further spread of infection. Hence, this specialized hospital cum centre is coming up for the policemem on duty".

Three policemen from Noida Police are under hospitalization where their condition is stable and under improvement while rest are at home quarantine at police lines and private residences, Singh informed. 

Gautam Budh Nagar on Sunday registered 1,571 fresh Covid cases, the highest single-day tally so far. With this, the tally now stands at 44,346.
