CBI files chargesheet against four accused in murder case of a former MP YS Vivekanand Reddy

New Delhi, October 28

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a charge sheet against four accused in the Kadapa district court related to the murder of a former member of Parliament YS Vivekanand Reddy.

Reddy, former Member of Parliament and Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's uncle, was brutally murdered in March 2019 at his residence in Pulivendula, few days ahead of the general elections.

The case was earlier investigated by the Andhra Pradesh police and other agencies have investigated the case while the CBI took over the case in July 2020. 

The CBI has arrested two accused -- Sunil Yadav and Umashankar Reddy -- in the case. Both the accused are close aides to the slain former MP.

The first accused in the case was arrested about 90 days ago. The interim charge sheet was filed to comply with the 90-day deadline after the arrest of the accused.
