Delhi Crime branch busts a gang of illegal arms dealers under Operation Eagle

Arrest of two robbers from Ghazipur began a detailed month long operation to uncover the illegal arms trade : Police

New Delhi, November 12

The Delhi Police have busted an inter-state arms trafficking network, involving the gang’s jailed leader Madan in a special operation ‘Eagle’. 

The  Delhi Crime Branch arrested 18 criminals for their alleged involvement in the syndicate after the Crime Branch raided various places in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). 

The police also recovered 4 pistols, 8 country-made pistols, a country-made rifle, 33 live cartridges, and a stolen car from the criminals under Operation Eagle.

Operation Eagle was launched on October 10. The crime branch had first arrested Arshad and Suleman, from Ghazipur who were geared up to execute a robbery in Noida. The accused were arrested with a stolen i20 car and one pistol. They disclosed that they acquired the weapon from Anuj aka Moni from Patparganj. After their disclosure, an investigation trail was started. 

Moni from Parpatganj was arrested who had bought arms from Anuj, who was arrested from Makanpur village.

The further probe revealed that Anuj used to get arms from Arjun, a sweeper at a five-star hotel. Arjun provided arms to Asif, Salman, and Tarun, all of whom were arrested at his instance from Parpatganj. Tarun, a hairdresser, revealed he provided weapons to jailed UP gangster Madan’s men and other people. Rohit Baisla and Gaurav Bansal were arrested. Arjun revealed he had also supplied to Kallu, a member of the Madan gang, and he was also arrested on his instance along with Vansh, another member, from the Duhai area.

Madan gang members claimed that they purchased arms from one Deepak Furtila from Baghpat in UP. 

On November 4, one more member of the gang Chetan Sharma, 22, was arrested from the Yamuna Khadar area with a pistol, and he confessed he received them from Madan. Madan was arrested from Dasna jail, and a semi-automatic pistol was found on him, officials further added.
