Delhi Police arrest one for blackmarketing and another for supply of Remdesivir injections

The Delhi Police held one fraudster from Rewa in Madhya Pradesh for alleged blackmarketing of Remdesivir injection.

The accused was identified as Aman Singh (25)  alias Lucky from Rewa in MP  He has studied B.Sc. (Comp. Science) and is presently working as a Data Entry Operator with some firm in Patna, Bihar.

The Khajuri Khas police had received a complaint of  cheating and black marketing of Remdesivir vaccine on WhatsApp by an unknown person.  
The police stated that complainant Neeraj Kumar Tiwari alleged that he received a call from mobile No. 9508384638 from social media, providing Remdesivir Injection. The complainant called  on above mobile number and the person picked up the call introduced himself to sell the  Remdesivir  Injection instantly. The complainant was in need of 6 injections for his father-in-law. 

The accused demanded Rs 5000/per piece and told to pay 40% in advance via Google pay before delivery.  The above alleged person also provide mobile number 9058233263 for online payment. The complainant paid Rs.8000/- to the above alleged person via google pay. After getting the payment, the alleged  person stopped picking the call of the complainant. 

The police through technical surveillance and CDR analysis a raid was conducted  at District Rewa, Madhya Pradesh and  arrested the accused.  

The police added that a mobile phone having same IMEI number using the same number for committing of the crime was recovered from his conscious possession. During further course of investigation several suspicious WhatsApp chats were found in his mobile phone.

The officials added that the accused is found maintaining bank account on another name having a balance of Rs. 7,83,968/-. The balance in the account was constantly increasing. His bank account has been freezed for outgoing transactions.

The police are further investigating the case  ascertain details of other victims.

According to the police, he opened a Bank account in the name of some other person and linked it with Google pay. He also floated his other mobile number on the social media websites impersonating as a seller of  Remdesivir  injection. Anyone who contacted him for Remdesivir injection he asked money in advance from him and did not response to his calls later.  
The police recovered the phone used for cheating and froze hus bank account with Rs. 7.83 lakhs.

In another case, North District police held a notorious cheat, who used to dupe people on the pretext of providing Remdesivir injections.

The accused was identified as Anuj Kumar Anand from Lajpat Nagar Delhi.

The police have been keeping a close watch on the social media platforms where fraudsters are cheating citizens. The police received information on one person involved in duping people on false assurance for providing Remdesivir injection. The accused was getting transferred money in one bank account.  
Head constable Munesh posted in AATS of North District called him posing as a customer. Initially accused kept on dodging him and ask to deposit half payment first in his saving account of a reputed bank.

On the basis of account and mobile details, the police identified the accused. The police conducted raids but the accused was changing his locations continuously. After dedicated efforts he was apprehended.

During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he was working as a travel agent on commission basis. On April 21, he visited Mool Chand Hosptal, where he noticed that there were shortage of Remdesivir injections and oxygen gas cylinders and citizens are ready to pay even higher prices for the same. He planned to earn quick money through assurance for Remdesivir injections and sent massage from his mobile phone regarding availability of Remdesivir injections at Rs 25,000/- per injection. 

The citizens started calling him and he asked them to deposit half payment in his account then only he will provide the injections but he did not provide the same to even a single person, officials said.
On checking of his mobile phone, it was revealed that he has contacted around 200 persons, who were seeking Remdesivir injections. He assured them to provide injection and got deposited half money in advance. On April 26 and 27,  he received amount approx. Rs 3 lakhs in his account. Several WhatsApp chats and voice chat have also been found in his mobile phone. He also threatened the persons, who were demanding their money back. 

He was also found involved in a cheating case at Subzi Mandi police station wherein one lady complainant was in need of Remdesivir injections for her critically ill father-in-law and the accused duped her to the tune of Rs 25,000/- in the name of providing Remdesivir Injection. 

During the course of investigation, it came to notice that several complaints have been lodged against the accused person in different police stations in Delhi and NCR also.

The officials added that many complaints are pending against him at Faridabad and Gurgaon, Haryana also.  

The police have seized cheques, passport, Aadhar card of the accused.
