New Delhi, January 21

The Delhi Police busted a gang of interstate arms suppliers who were also involved in the 2023 Pragati Maidan Tunnel robbery

The police have recovered five semi-automatic pistols, six country-made pistols, and 28 live cartridges from the accused.

The accused were identified as Kuldeep aka Lungad (27), Praveen (46), and Julfiqar aka Hazi Guddu (52) for allegedly supplying illegal firearms across Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

The police stated that the investigation was triggered by a tip-off about Kuldeep, who was planning a robbery with a firearm. On December 15, 2024, the police raided his residence in Burari, and arrested him with a semi-automatic pistol.

During questioning, Kuldeep revealed his involvement in the 2023 Pragati Maidan Tunnel robbery, in which he had been arrested and subsequently released on bail. He further revealed that he contacted Pradeep, another co-accused in the same case, for assistance in obtaining firearms. Pradeep then introduced him to Praveen, a dealer supplying firearms across Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab for two decades, officials added.
