Delhi Police ASI held in a bribery case at Model Town

New Delhi, April 16
An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) was arrested for allegedly taking a bribe from a retired policeman. The ASI had allegedly sought the bribe to allow renovation at the complainant’s home.
The ASI has been identified as Sudesh, who was posted at the Model Town police station. The retired officer lived in an area under its jurisdiction.
The police received a complaint from the retired police official who that claimed he was getting some renovation work done at his house and the ASI demanded Rs 4 lakh as bribe for the work to continue.
The police laid a trap and held he ASI red handed while accepting Rs 2 lakh from the complainant.
The complainant also provided a voice recording in which the ASI was allegedly heard demanding money.
A case of corruption has been registered by the vigilance unit of Delhi Police.
