Delhi Police commemorated bravehearts at National Police Memorial

New Delhi, October 25

The Delhi Police in presence of Union Minister of State (Home) Nityanand Rai, dedicated memorial services at National Police Memorial, Chanakya Puri. 

The Chief Guest was rendered Ceremonial Salute by Delhi Police. Nityanand Rai offered homage to police martyrs by laying wreath at the memorial whose  "Wall of Valour" bears names of all the police personnel who have laid their lives in the line of duty. The Delhi CP Rakesh Asthana accompanied the chief guest through the events. 

Rai flagged off "Amrit Run" in presence of CP, Delhi Shri Rakesh Asthana. Amrit Run was a symbolic race through Kautilya Marg and Vinay Marg, terminating at Main Security Line in which 75 athletes from Delhi Police, CPOs & CAPFs (DP-15, NSG-8, ITBP-8, NDRF-6, RPF-6, CISF-8, SSB-8, BSF-8, CRPF-8) took part to mark AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV.

The families of Delhi Police martyrs and serving personnel visited National Police Memorial  and paid homage to the martyrs. They were taken on a guided round of Memorial complex, where they visited the NPM museum and were shown short movies highlighting the brave acts of police persons.

CP Delhi and other senior officers visited the NPM with their family members. 

Rakesh Asthana paid homage to martyrs by laying wreath at the Memorial, followed by by Spl CsP, following which the Delhi Police Brass Band and Delhi Police Women Pipe Band played patriotic tunes.  Three short videos- "Delhi Police martyrs on Commemoration Day-2021", "relief work by Delhi Police during pandemic" and "women Policing" were displayed in the concluding event of the day.

The Police Commemoration Week is being observed from October 22 to October 31 and all CAPFs/CPOs including Delhi Police have been entrusted one day each for conducting various programmes/events at National Police Memorial.
