Delhi Police Dwarka District five notorious drug peddlers, over 40kgs of cannabis seized

New Delhi, May 12

The sleuths of the anti narcotics squad of Dwarka district in Delhi Police arrested a drug peddlar, seized over 40 kilograms of cannabis.

The main accused was identified as Tejwar Rawat from Mahavir Enclave in Dabri, a notorious drug peddler of cannabis in areas of Delhi / NCR. 

The police arrested him red handed when he allegedly came to deliver the consignment of the contraband for selling to the consumers. 

The police while doing their regular checking found him in suspicious condition and upon checking found him with 02.600 kilograms, adeptly packed in a bag.

According to police,  Tejwar Rawat that the main supplier is Nikhil Kumar from Sagarpur and Ishu from Palam Village who were also subsequently apprehended.

During the investigation cash 1,38,500/- and 16,000/- have also been recovered from the possession of accused Tajwar Rawat. 

The police added that at the instance of all three accused more 22.620 Kilograms of illegal cannabis was seizes, cash Rs. 15,30,000/- (Rupees Fifty Lakhs thirty Thousand only), electronic weighing machine and plastic pouch maker machine have also been recovered from the said premises.

The officials added that it is revealed that the accused are indulged in the business of illegal cannabis from two years and accused Nikhil is the main person who manages the whole business. Tajwar is an employee of main supplier Nikhil.

During investigation, co-accused Harvinder Singh and one of peddler namely Mayank were arrested at the instance of accused Nikhil and later on as per the disclosure statement of accused Nikhil it was revealed that one more consignment has reached and the same was also seized with another 17.800 kilograms of cannabis shipped from Shilong.

The accused Nikhil told police that he went to Shillong in December 2019 to purchase the ganja. He first purchased about five Kg ganja from Bada Bazar, Shilong (Meghalaya) for personal use but after reaching Delhi to earn some money, some portion of illegal ganja was sold by him to close friends. Later on other co-accused Harvinder Singh and Ishu were also involved by him in the illegal business. 

The officials stated that they initially took a flat on rent at Sector-23-B, Dwarka, New Delhi and start the business.  They earned good cash in a short time and also purchased a car and a motorcycle to supply the illegal ganja but after some time due to lockdown, their business was collapsed. Then he went to Shilong by air and met with suppliers and then they start the said business as illegal ganja parcel was sent by the supplier through Cargo Services. 

In January, Tajwar and Manoj were also called by him to do business against the salary of 35,000/-each. 

Tejwar Rawat  is a permanent resident of Almoda Uttrakhand. Nikhil Kumar is a BTech degree of B. Tech but was indulged in  supply of illegal cannabis in Delhi/NCR since two years.Ishu was previously doing a job in a call center at Janakpuri but due to lockdown, the call center was shut down. In the meanwhile, he came in contact with Nikhil and indulged in this illegal business. 

Harvinder Singh is indulged in this illegal business with accused Nikhil for last two years. Mayank Dhawan is indulged in supply of illegal Ganja since July, 2020.  

The police are further probing the case and carrying out detailed interrogation of the accused. More arrests are expected in the case, police added.
