Delhi Police inaugurates state of the art police lines for police personnel in North West District

New Delhi, June 26

The Delhi Police inaugurated a newly renovated District Police Lines complex in Ashok Vihar as one of the welfare initiatives of the police. 

The newly renovated premise of ‘District Line Police Complex’ includes facilities like modern barracks- “Nilay” for male, “Akshee” for female and “Nikunj” for multi-tasking staff, training complex “Deeksha”, recreation hall “Nirvin”, badminton court, stage, offices etc. 

The officials said the the aim is to provide a comfortable space for police personnel where they can rest, play and rejuvenate after their duties. On the occasion, new state of the art Conference Hall “Manthan” of the district was also inaugurated by the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion,  Delhi CP Rakesh Astahana emphasized upon the importance of a police line stating that it is that administrative set up which keeps records related to transfer, posting deployment and service records of all police personals working in the district.

He said, "The reserve forces to meet any eventuality or law and order situation, also remain present in police line. Therefore, it becomes imperative that welfare of staff working or residing in lines are provided facilities where they can rejuvenate & rest after their hectic duties". 

He further asserted that the essentiality of healthy mind and body while performing demanding police duties. Hence the importance of playing games whether indoor or outdoor as it helps them in unwinding, improve their reflexes and helps them in keeping a sound mind.

A short film depicting new facilities in the premises was also played. 

The Delhi CP felicitated seven persons for their contribution towards conceptualization, graphic designing & actual renovation of the new District Police Line as well as display of their skill during the cultural event.

DCP (North West) Usha Rangnani, introduced the facilities provided in the newly renovated ‘District Police Line Complex’ and narrated how the new facilities will provide conducive atmosphere for police personnel & enhance their work performance as well as sharpen their physical & mental faculties. 

The programme also included performances of various artist who performed on folk/ classic songs of different states.

The ocassion was graced by Special CPs SBK Singh, Sundari Nanda, Mukesh Kumar Meena, Sanjay Singh, Dependra Pathak, Nuzhat Hassan, Virender Singh, Ravindra Yadav,  Madhup Kumar Tiwari, Shalini Singh, Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda, Jt CPs and DCPs were present on this occasion.
