Delhi Police seize 96 oxygen concentrators from Navneet Kalra's Khan Chacha restaurant

New Delhi, May 7

A day after raiding high profile Nege & Ju restaurant in South Delhi owned by Navneet Kalra, the Delhi Police South District cracked down at Khan Chacha, a famous restaurant in the upscale Khan Market for allegedly hoarding oxygen concentrators for black marketing.

The police arrested two accused from the spot and seized 96 oxygen concentrators from Khan Chacha.

The police released a video of the raid where the oxygen concentrators hoarded around 100 oxygen concentrators at the restaurant. The police have sealed the restaurant.

DCP (South) Atul Thakur stated that the the restaurant was hoarding oxygen concentrators at Khan Chacha restaurant at Khan Market while a day before 419 oxygen concentrators were seized from Nege & Ju. Hitesh is the manager of the place while the mastermind behin this is the owner Navneet Kalra.

The key accused Navneet Kalra who owns Khan Chacha, Nege & Ju, Townhall, Mr. Choy  besides Dayal Opticals in the national capital is absconding.  

The Delhi Police South District seized over 400 oxygen concentrators from four jn Lodhi Colony who were allegedly involved in blackmarketing of the life saving drugs and equipments.

The police had arrested Gaurav Singh from Lajpat Nagar, Satish from East of Kailash, Vikrant Singh from Mahipalpur and Hitesh Prakash, manager of Nege & Ju Restaurant and Bar.

According to police, the accused imported the oxygen concentrators from China and sold them in Delhi via an online portal. The concentrators were reportedly bought for Rs 20,000-25,000 and were being sold for at least Rs 70,000.

Delhi Police has also contacted the Customs department to probe whether the oxygen concentrators were bought for personal use, as permitted by the Centre, and then sold for commercial purposes.

On detailed interrogation, the accused revealed that they also have a warehouse at the Khullar farm in Mandi village that was used to store the concentrators, police added.

The police are further investigating the case.
