New Delhi, May 6
The Delhi Police South District seized over 400 oxygen concentrators from four jn Lodhi Colony who were allegedly involved in blackmarketing of the life saving drugs and equipments.
The police identified the main accused as Navneet Kalra, owner of the restaurant and bar. The other accused were identified as Gaurav Singh from Lajpat Nagar, Satish from East of Kailash, Vikrant Singh from Mahipalpur and Hitesh Prakash, manager of Nege Ju Restaurant and Bar.
The Lodhi Colony police stated that when a team of policemen were patrolling, they came across Nege Ju Restaurant and Bar at Central Market Lodhi Colony doing some suspicious activity.
After searching the restaurant one person was found sitting on a laptop and he was getting orders online of oxygen concentrator by Xpect Everything online portal. When the police searched the premises , a total of 32 boxes of oxygen concentrator having capacity of 9 Litre and 5 Litre and one box of thermal scanner and one box containing N 95 masks were found.
The police have registered a case under section 420, 188, 120 B, 34 of the Indian Penal Code and 3/7 Essential Commodities Act and 3 Epidemic Diseases Act.
The police further stated that the accused persons disclosed about their warehouse in Khullar Farm, Mandi Village was being operated. When a search was conducted and 387 more units of oxygen concentrators were recovered which were being sold at exorbitant price in black market.
The police also seized invoices of these oxygen concentrators being sold at high prices over Rs.70, 000 was also recovered.
The police are further investigating the case and recover more concentrators behind this black marketing.
