In view of the excessive pressure on existing hospitals of Delhi and unmatched gap of demand and supply of hospital beds, Delhi Police North District team motivated the Residents Welfare Associations (RWA) to aide in setting up Covid care facility.
Rajneesh Behri Mathur, President, Rajiv Jain, Secretary, Rohit Aggarwal, Treasurer and Nitin Kumar Goel, Vice President of Civil Lines Welfare Association (Regd) came forward and expressed their willingness to provide resources with the active participation of Delhi Police for starting one small emergency oxygen therapy/health care center named “Sanjivni” Civil Lines Covid Care Facility Centre for catering to the need of patients, who require some immediate emergency COVID care.
The LG Delhi had passed guidelines where RWAs and gated residential complexes have been authorized to start small COVID care facility to help in reducing the burden on existing facilities for managing suspect, pre-symptomatic, asymptomatic, very mild cases of COVID-19.
The society members e-inaugurated and dedicated this facility alongwith while Anto Alphonse DCP North District, Inspr. Ajay Kumar, SHO Civil Lines and members of the Civil Lines RWA.
DCP North, Anto Alphonse stated that every effort is being made to make it technically and ethically correct. It would be really an act of humanity full of kindness and compassion through which we may be able to contribute and further encourage other parts of the society to come forward with more such initiatives to start/establish other Covid Care Centres.
The officials said that at this centre, a dedicated space has also been earmarked at Gange Girls Sr. Sec. School, Civil Lines, which is fulfilling all the requirements as laid down in the guidelines for establishing a small unit of 20 beds in which the patient will be provided with the emergency oxygen care under the supervision of the doctor.
The Centre will be only for managing symptomatic/ pre- symptomatic/ asymptomatic/ very mild cases of Covid-19 patients. Dr. Chander Parkash from Gauri Nursing Home, Malka Ganj along with his team will pay visits to the Centre and will take care of the patients admitted in the Centre.
In order to facilitate the patients, an ambulance will also be provided at the Centre. 17 oxygen concentrators have been provided at the Centre.
20 cots with mattresses,40 bed sheets with pillow cover, 20 pillows, 20 dustbins, 20 electric kettles, 20 steamers, 20 big plastic stools, 20 steel glasses, 20 steel thali, 20 steel spoons, 20 steel bowls etc. The resources have been generated by Civil Lines Welfare Association and North District team of Delhi Police, officials added.
The patients will be provided food at the center itself. Other basic amenities like water, toilets etc. have also been arranged at the Centre. An undertaking has also been designed for the patients to give before admission. A Helpline Number 8800312860 has been launched. The patient’s family may use the number for information before visiting the Centre.
