Delhi Police Sub Inspector donated plasma to a Covid+ pregnant lady and saved two lives
New Delhi, May 11
The Delhi Police Sub Inspector Akashdeep posted at Roopnagar police station of North District came in to aide a Covid + pregnant woman who was in acute need of plasma donation.
The 27-year-old woman who is 21 weeks pregnant and COVID positive is undergoing treatment in a hospital at Uttam Nagar.
The officials said that a tweet was circulating that a 21 week pregnant lady requires O+ blood group plasma, may please help. The team working under the “JeevanRakshak” initiative of Delhi Police approached the contact number available in the tweet.
The officials added the team approached SI Akashdeep. He immediately affirmed his willingness to donate plasma and reached ILBS hospital as per direction. There, he donated plasma and later he himself handed over the plasma to the husband.
The husband informed that he had tried to arrange some donors and was even accompanying them to the hospital since last two days but the donors could not fulfil the basic criteria needed to donate plasma, as per medical guidelines and he had almost started losing hope.
The family expressed their gratitude and appreciated the quick efforts done by Delhi Police.
