Father kills two new born twin girls in Delhi, police exhume bodies

Father Neeraj Solanki buries the twin girls after the mother and child were discharged from the hospital

New Delhi, June 25

Two newborn twins were allegedly killed and buried by the father and his family as they were unhappy with the birth of two girls.. 

As per the case details, mother Pooja Solanki, recently gave birth to two twin girls. On June 1, Pooja was discharged from the hospital along with her babies. She wanted to go to her maternal home in Rohtak, but her husband, Neeraj Solanki, took the babies in his car and told her to follow in another car. However, midway, Neeraj changed his route.

The woman's brother tried to call Neeraj, but the call was not connected. Later, Pooja's brother found that Neeraj's family had buried the babies.

The Delhi Police have got the bodies of the twin girls exhumed on judicial orders.The bodies were taken to the mortuary at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination

The police stated that the cause of death will be determined once the autopsy report is released. 

Pooja got married to Neeraj in 2022. She had also been a victim of dowry harassment where her in-laws constantly harassed her for dowry. 

The police have booked the grandfather and others for infanticide. The father is on the run.
