New Delhi, June 10
The Jammu and Kashmir administration terminated four government employees from service for their alleged links with terrorist organisations.
The Lieutenant Governor dismissed Constables Abdul Rehman Dar and Ghulam Rasool Bhat, teacher Shabir Ahmad Wani, and Anayatullah Shah Pirzada, an assistant lineman in the Jal Shakti department.
Lieutenant Governor invoked 311 (2) (c) of the Constitution to sack the four government employees after investigation established that they were acting on behalf of Pakistan intelligence agency ISI and the terror outfits.
As per the case details, Constable Dar, who has been in service since 2002, was found associating with Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of terror groups. It is alleged that he had been aiding terrorists for over a decade, transporting arms and providing logistical support while using his police identity to avoid detection.
Assistant Lineman Pirzada was found to be an associate of Al-Badr Mujahideen, a proscribed terror outfit, officials alleged. Residing near the India-Pakistan border, he facilitated infiltration, provided logistical support, and helped terrorists evade security forces, according to the charges against him. Pirzada has been an employee since 1995.
Another constable, Ghulam Rasool Bhat, employed since 2011, had radical and secessionist sympathies, aiding terrorists by repairing their firearms and supplying ammunition.
Shabir Ahmad Wani, the teacher who joined the state education department in 2004, is accused of being an active member of the banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) and having ties with Hizbul-Mujahideen. Officials alleged that he played a pivotal role in organising and inciting violence, particularly during the 2016 unrest in Kulgam.
