20 policemen including five women police women were injured when a group on anti farm law protestors protesting in Hisar allegedly turned violent during the inauguration of the new Covid hospital at Hisar.
The Haryana police stated that fokkowing Haryana CM Manohar Khattar's departure from the venue, the protestors gathered at South Bypass, four kilometres from the venue entered inside the town and allegedly began protesting.
The police added that the protestors reached Jindal overbridge, broke the police naka and allegedly tried to enter the newly constructed Covid hospital.
According to the police, some of the protestors were allegedly under influence of alcohol or drugs. The protestors also resorted to heavy stone pelting on policemen and tried to ram the police with tractors.
The violence left 20 policemen injured and five police vehicles several years damaged. The police officials stated that they used mild force to control the mob. A DSP rank officer was also allegedly manhandled by the protestors.
DGP Haryana, Manoj Yadav stated that the Haryana police will give Rs. 5000 to each injured police personnel for his medical needs following the violence.
