Woman thrashed by father-in-law publicly with a brick for getting a job

New Delhi, March 16

In a freak incident reported from Prem Nagar in northwest a father-in-law publicly assaulted his daughter-in-law with a brick for getting a job. The woman was dragged out of her home and beaten up, the incident was caught on the CCTV cameras.

The victim is a 26-year-old woman who wanted to work and took a job however her in-laws opposed it.

The woman was saved by locals who intervened and taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital where she got over a dozen stitches on her head.

A video of the incident went viral on social media. In the video, the woman and her father-in-law are seen arguing. He threatens her with a brick. When the woman tries to leave, he hits her on the head twice.

The police said they have taken cognizance of the video, identified the accused and registered a case against him.
