Amritpal Crackdown- Another motorcycle seized, mobile internet services restores in some parts of Punjab

New Delhi, March 23

The Punjab Police continuing to crack down on fugitive Waris de Punjab fam, Amritpal Singh seized another motorcycle from Jalandhar that was used by Amritpal while fleeing.

A resident approached police with a complaint that his bike has been snatched at gun point. the complainant, Gurbhinder Singh alias Bhinda of Malsian filed a complaint. The ‘Bullet’ was recovered from Sadiqpur.

The police stated that Gurbhinder Singh he and his friend would be able to identify the men in the future. 

Gurbhinder Singh who was on a motorcycle along with his friend was hit by a speeding bullet on March 18 near Sadiqpur brick kiln. Singh was on his way to Talwandi Sangherha village, near Nakodar.Three riders on the bullet snatched their motorcycle pointing a pistol. They left their bullet and fled with their bike instead. 

The police have now seized the same bullet. The police then lodged an FIR under section 279 (rash driving), 341(wrongful restraint), 379B (punishment for snatching) of IPC and section 25 (carrying prohibited arms) of the Arms Act, 1959, against three unknown people. 

The Punjab Government restored mobile internet services in Sangrur and Moga districts after a ban on Internet for four days after police began the crackdown on fugitive Amritpal Singh of Waris de Punjab fame.

As per an order by the Punjab home department, mobile internet services would remain suspended only in the two districts of Tarn Taran and Ferozepur till March 23 afternoon.

After initially suspending the services for three consecutive days till March 22 noon, the Punjab government had restored it in most parts of the state, except in Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Moga, Sangrur, Ajnala sub-division in Amritsar district. 

The Punjab Police is still on the lookout for Amritpal Singh who is on the run while National Security Act (NSA) has been invoked against five of Amritpal’s arrested aides, including his uncle who is arrested. The five were sent to Assam and lodged in a jail in Dibrugarh.
