CP Delhi takes tour of the city to inspect weekend curfew implementation
New Delhi, April 17
Delhi Police Commissioner SN Shrivastava, visited various parts of Delhi to take stock of the execution of Weekend Curfew orders.
The areas toured include, inter alia, Samastpur Picket, Akshardham, Ghazipur Crossing, Maharajpur Check Post, NH 24 Anand Vihar, Jagatpuri, Krishna Nagar, New Ushmanpur, Signature Bridge, Majanu Ka Tilla, ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Rajghat and Tilak Marg.
The police personnel were found wearing all safety gears . A vigorous awareness by using PA system and flexi informative boards for general public at various places were also seen on ground.
During the interaction with the field functionaries, the CP reiterated to enforce the weekend curfew instructions in letter & spirit. The staff was emphasised upon to be firm and polite while checking persons and vehicles. Strict action is to be taken against those found willfully disobeying the weekend curfew instructions, he said. However, he emphasized that the needy and genuine persons must be dealt with compassionately and their hassle-free movement be facilitated.
The Spl CP Law & Order, Joint CP Ranges, District DCP of the respective areas, who were supervising the police arrangements, accompanied CP Delhi. The deployment of forces at pickets , patrolling duty, market/ mall & other vulnerable places and announcement on public address systems were found to be in action. In addition to local police, CAPF was also deployed to bolster the strength of local police and ensure optimal police visibility on the streets.
