Delhi Police book three in the police assault case of Dwarka

New Delhi, April 15

The Delhi Police Dwarka District booked three persons following the surfacing of a video where a policeman was seen getting thrashed brutally by two men in the gym at Dwarka.

The video went viral on social media where two men could be seen hurling abuses and thrashing the policeman.

The policeman, identified as Sushil, was earlier posted as a Personal Security Officer (PSO) of a man named Sanjay Gupta. 

According to the police, the incident took place two weeks ago. The policeman, identified as Sushil, was earlier posted as a Personal Security Officer (PSO) of a man named Sanjay Gupta. On April 1, he went to Uttam Nagar where he got into an argument with Gupta’s relatives. Two of them then thrashed the policeman.

The accused were identified as Rinku Gupta, Ashwani and Kaku who are on the run.   The police have formed teams to arrest the absconding accused.
DCP Dwarka Santosh Meena said, "A video of a police person being assaulted in Uttam Nagar has surfaced. Delhi Police takes such matters very seriously and we have booked the accused as per law".

The Dwarka police have registered a case under Section 186, 353, 332 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code at Uttamnagar police station.

The PSOs provided to Sanjay Gupta have been withdrawn, police added.
