Delhi Police Covid Helpline for weekend curfew received over 1500 calls

New Delhi, April 17

The Delhi Police Covid Helpline 011-23469900 set up on eve of Weekend Curfew on at the new Police Headquarters has received over 1500 calls for facilitation till Saturday evening.

The 24x7 Covid Helpline was started keeping in view the experiences gained during the lockdown period in 2020. It has 10 dedicated lines on which selected personnel of Delhi Police drawn from specialized units have been deployed to attend to calls and resolve the difficulties faced by the public. 

Since 8 PM on April 16, over 1500 calls have been received till today afternoon which have been addressed properly.

The officials said that majority of the calls relate to queries pertaining to what was allowed and what  not during the day and night curfew on the weekend, apart from issues related to difficulties in e-passes or movement passes and the issuing authorities. Several categories of emergencies not listed out for issue of e pass was also the subject of many calls.

The citizens are being guided to apply on the dedicated websites and also being conveyed about the various DDMA guidelines which are enforced as on date, officials added.

The officials further said that, in case of genuine need, issues have been escalated to senior District Police officials to resolve specific issues in their jurisdiction to facilitate emergencies for benefit of the citizens in need.
