Delhi Police organises road safety and efficient traffic management seminar for traffic personnel.

New Delhi, February 21

The Delhi Traffic Police organised a seminar on Road Safety and Efficient Traffic Management for traffic personnel. 

Delhi CP Sanjay Arora was the chief guest of the seminar aimed to bring together senior Delhi   Traffic Police officials, experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss innovative solutions for improving road safety and traffic management in Delhi.

Delhi CP Sanjay Arora encouraged everyone to analyze the reasons for all fatalities in detail and take corrective actions. He also emphasized on implementing solution-oriented approach for traffic issues. 

Some of the key topics discussed during the seminar included:-

➢ Issues like Hotspots, fatalities, congestion and the best practices.

➢ Public awareness campaigns for road safety.

➢ Role of technology in improving road safety and traffic management.

➢ Relevance of AI Applications in enforcement.

Dr. Velmurugan, Chief Scientist and Head CRRI, who gave a presentation on various traffic issues said “The seminar provided a platform for experts and stakeholders to share their knowledge and experiences on road safety and traffic management. We hope that the recommendations and suggestions made during the seminar will contribute to improving road safety and traffic management in Delhi.”

Girish Aggarwal and Rahul Goel  both faculty from IIT Delhi, made a presentation on relevance of AI applications in enforcement.

Adding a note of caution they added that technology should not be sighted as a solution for all road problems and human intervention will always play an important role in efficient traffic management. AI and technology can only assist in resolving these issues but should not be considered as only solution.

Ruchi Verma, CEO HumanQind has emphasized on creating Safe Zones for school children and discussed about the pilot project being undertaken in various districts to create ‘Safe School Zones.’
