Delhi Traffic Police collaborates with NGO TRAX to promote road safety among two wheeler riders

New Delhi, February 25
The Delhi Traffic Police in collaboration with TRAX, a national road safety NGO, undertook an initiative to promote road safety among two-wheeler riders.
This event was part of the larger celebrations for Delhi Police Week and took place at key locations such as the NSP Foot-over Bridge, Safeda Picket, and Dilli Haat at Netaji Subhash Place. The objective of this initiative was to distribute high-quality helmets free of charge to riders and to emphasize the critical importance of wearing helmets while riding.
In a pressing context, the frequency of road accidents involving two-wheeler riders has become a matter of great concern. Statistics reveal that wearing a helmet significantly mitigates the risk of severe head injuries or fatalities. Given this alarming trend, the partnership between the Delhi Traffic Police and TRAX NGO aims to equip riders with the necessary equipments for their safety. The distribution of certified helmets marks an essential step not only in providing protective gear but also in fostering a culture of safety among riders.
The event was not just a distribution effort; it included professional helmet fittings to assure each recipient a secure and comfortable fit. Furthermore, road safety experts were present to deliver vital information on traffic regulations, safe riding practices, and the life-saving significance of wearing helmets consistently. This educational aspect of the initiative ensured that participants left not only with a helmet but also with a better understanding of road safety.
A total of 225 helmets were distributed during the event, including 25 helmets generously provided by TRAX NGO. The helmets were allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis, maximizing the number of two-wheeler riders who could benefit from this initiative. This thoughtful approach ensured inclusivity and a wider impact on the community.
