New Delhi, January 18
The Delhi Traffic Police organized a Walkathon at Connaught Place as part of the National Road Safety Month 2025 celebrations.
The event witnessed active participation from students, NCC cadets, corporate employees representing companies such as Hero MotoCorp, JK Tyres, and Zomato, along with volunteers from the Brahmakumaris organization.
Satya Vir Katara, Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, HQ, S.K. Singh, DCP Traffic HQ II, Anil Kumar, ACP/ RSC Traffic, Insp Manju Singh, TI / RSC grace the occasion and. Satya Vir Katara as Chief Guest and flagged off the walkathon.
Addressing the audience, he emphasized the importance of understanding and following traffic rules. He urged the participants to understand the real essence of traffic rules and to promote road safety awareness among their peer groups and family members thereby makingsignificant contributiontowards saving lives on roads.
The walkathon was flagged off from Traffic Training Park, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, at around 1100 hrs. Participants took a route through the Inner Circle of Connaught Place, carrying attractive placards with road safety messages and shouting slogans to draw the attention of fellow road users. Enroute the walkathon a team of students also performed a street play highlighting various traffic violations and their repercussions, with a view to sensitize the public. The walkathon culminated at the starting point, TT Park, BKS Marg.
The event aimed to promote pedestrian safety and reinforce the importance of obeying traffic rules for the safety of all road users. The participants' enthusiasm and the powerful display of road safety messages through the street play, made a significant impact on the public, spreading the message of road safety in an effective manner.
