Delhi Police signs MoU with DPHCL for police for construction & maintenance work of police establishments

The Delhi Police signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Delhi Police and Delhi Police Housing Corporation Ltd (DPHCL). 

The signing ceremony was done by Delhi CP Rakesh Asthana who is also the Chairman of DPHCL, S Sundri Nanda, Special CP HRD and Surender Singh Yadav, Special CP and Managing Director of DPHCL.

Delhi Police Housing Corporation Limited was formed in  2006 through Note for the Cabinet and incorporated in November' 2007 under Companies Act, 1956.  It has been established with a view to develop the capacity for faster utilization of outlays for construction and repair/maintenance of Residential and non-Residential building of Delhi Police, but was not fully functional till 2021.  

After assuming charge as Delhi CP Rakesh Asthana had in his first briefing highlighted that improving the residential condition of police personnel and enhancing the housing satisfaction level was his Top Priority.  

The Delhi Police Civil infrastructure is large with 166 police colonies, 15587 residential quarters, 209 police stations, 44 posts and  Posts and 205 other office buildings.

The officials said that Delhi Police and DPHCL has emphasized the point that they share a common interest in qualitative and timely completion of work related to construction, repair and maintenance of residential and non-residential buildings belonging to Delhi Police.  

As per the MoU Delhi Police shall allocate all work of repair and maintenance of residential and non-residential buildings to DPHCL alongwith other new works.  Delhi Police shall also release annual allocated funds related to minor works to DPHCL.  

DPHCL is implementing important projects like - Pilot Project for 3D Printing Technology for construction of Residential buildings, making Police Stations/Police Colonies Compliant to Green Building Norms, installation of rooftop Solar Panel over PHQ building, providing logistics during important events like - Republic Day, Raising Day of Delhi Police etc.  

The DPHCL is implementing 117 projects whereas 75 projects are in pipeline. 

The Engineering wing of DPHCL has also been strengthened with 1 SE, 2 AEEs and 7 JEs.  In addition to that, police personnel from all units and districts have been attached with the DPHCL to work as link officer and to expedite the works.

DPHCL has three helplines, where a Delhi Police personnel can call and get his complaint regarding repair and maintenance registered.  Moreover, the website of DPHCL has also been made functional and the Delhi Police personnel can login and register their complaint and can monitor the status of the work on real time.
