Delhi Police South West District held two for illegally selling Remdesivir injections

New Delhi, April 30

The Delhi Police South West District held two for illegally selling Remdesivir injections.  

The accused were identified as Abhishek Kumar (27) from Mohan Baba Nagar in Badarpur Delhi and Pramod Kumar (21) from Khan Market. Abhishek works as housekeeping staff at Safdarjang Hospital while Pramod works at Brutsmate Pharmacy suppliers at Tis Hazari. 


DCP (South West) Ingit Pratap Singh stated that the accused were illegally selling Remdesivir injections for Rs. 37000/- each. With their arrest total number of 10 vials of life saving drug ‘Remdesivir’ have been recovered from their possession.


The Sarojini Nagar police station had received information that the duo, a part of an inter state gang, have been illegally selling Remdesivir injections. 

The police stated that during their interrogation they disclosed that they are operating in Delhi NCR and supplying Remdesivir at exorbitant prices of Rs. 35000-50000. The police teams are conducting more raids to nab their co-accused persons and to recover more vials which have been illegally procured by the gang.

The police stated that the accused used to sell these injections in black market at higher prices and earn huge differences. They have a set network of persons who supply the injections on demand.  A number of persons are involved in this black marketing of the injections, officials added. 

The police have booked the accused under Section 420, 188, 120B, 34 of the Indian Penal Code, sections 3/7 Essential Commodities Act and 3 Epidemic Diseases Act.
