Ghaziabad police kills one, arrest two in Tata Steels senior manager snatching-murder case

Vinay Tyagi, national sales head of Tata Steels, was going home from metro station when three men snatched his phone and laptop

New Delhi, May 13

The Ghaziabad Police neutralized an accused in an encounter who had allegedly killed a senior executive of Tata Steel while trying to snatch his laptop.Two other accused were arrested in another raid.

The victim Vinay Tyagi,  national sales head, was going home from metro station when three men snatched his phone and laptop. After the robbery, they stabbed with a knife. His body was recovered hours later by the family near Khaitan Public School. 

The accused who was killed has been identified as Daksh, a resident of Mainpuri, UP, currently residing in Sangam Vihar, Delhi. The other two accused have been identified as 20-year-old Yug Dhai, a resident of Seelampur, Delhi, and 24-year-old Luvkush alias Raghav Singh, a resident of Brahmpuri, Delhi.

The police recovered Tyagi’s laptop and phone from the accused. Officials said a police sub-inspector was also injured during the gunfight. 

The police stated that they were conducting checks for the accused by blocking the road. They spotted two of them on a bike. But when the police tried to stop them, they started to flee and fired at the police team. A sub-inspector, Mangal Singh, was injured and Daksh, was killed in the encounter.

The police then raided another location (Bhopura border) and arrested two more accused, from whom Tyagi’s laptop One Plus phone was recovered.
