Man arrested in Coimbatore for dumping animal waste near temple

The accused was identified as Mohammed Ayas, works at a meat shop in Coimbatore's Gandhi Park area

The Coimbatore police arrested one man for allegedly dumping animal meat waste near a temple chariot. The incident led to chaos and anger among the locals. 

The accused was identified as Mohammed Ayas, works at a meat shop in Coimbatore's Gandhi Park area. He was later arreted. 

According to the police, on the night of June 1, Ayas collected the chicken and mutton scraps in a carry bag and travelled two kilometres from the shop to the temple chariot on Raja Street and dumped the meat waste.

After the incident, police cleared the meat waste with the help of sanitation workers. 

The police have booked the accused for promoting enmity between different groups, public nuisance, and offering insult with intent to provoke.
