SSB jawaan dies of accidental firing from his weapon in Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi temple
This is the second such incident at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in recent months
New Delhi, June 21
A personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSF) died from an accidental shooting incident at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple complex in Ayodhya.
The deceased was identified as Shatrughan Vishwakarma, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar district of UP.
The officials said that the incident occurred late at night due to mishandling of the service weapon.
Security personnel rushed Vishwakarma to a local hospital after the shooting. He was subsequently referred to a trauma center, where doctors declared him dead.
The body was later sent for autopsy.
This is the second such incident at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex in recent months. In March, a Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) commando suffered injuries during an "accidental firing" while cleaning his weapon at his post.
