Delhi Crime Branch arrested an arms supplier from Delhi

New Delhi, April 9

The Special Task Force of Delhi Crime Branch arrested an illegal arms supplier.

The accused was identified as Salim Hasim (29) from Vinod Nagar in Delhi.

Add CP Crime Branch, Shibesh Singh stated that the accused is a seasoned arms supplier and was working with elements of his syndicate to supply arms in the upcoming UP elections. 

The crime branch stated that he was supplying various types of arms to the criminals in Delhi&NCR. The arms recovered from him were meant to be supplied to criminals during the upcoming elections in UP. 

The STF was working to bust the supply of arms/ammunition to the criminals. The team led by DCP Bhisham Singh receuved information on the accused and they laid a trap in the night at Khajuri Pushta road near Power House and apprehended the accused when he arrived there on a bullet motorcycle to deliver arms and ammunition to someone. 

The crime branch stated that Salim Hasim, of from Baghpat in UP where he dropped his school and moved to Delhi with his father and then his father shifted to Delhi. His father Hasim was also an arms supplier and more than 12 cases of Arms Act, murder etc. were registered against him in Delhi and UP. Salim started working in the electrical repairing shop of his father and after the death of his father about nine months ago, he started selling illegal arms to the criminals. He was earlier arrested by Kalyanpuri police station in a case of attempt to murder and Arms Act.

The police seized a total of four pistols; two automatics .32 pistols, one automatic .30 pistol, one .315 bore countrymade pistol and 39 live cartridges from his possession.
