The Delhi Police South East held two for allegedly cheating a Delhi citizen in he pretext of buying his phones and running away with his high end mobile phones.
The accused were identified as Dharmendra Badrinath Chaudhary (35) from Badarpur who is graduate from TMU University, Bhagalpur. He is self employed and works as a water supplier in the area of Jaitpur. He is previously involved in one case of POCSO Act. The second accused was identified as Rishabh Singh (26) from Jaitpur is a graduate from Shobit University in U.P. He works as a freelancer in graphic designing and also deals in spare parts of automobiles.
The police said that the complainant Divyam Goel alleged that two persons namely Dharmender and Risabh met him at Kalindi Kunj Metro station for purchasing two I-phone mobiles from him. They had contacted him after seeing his advertisement of selling his I-phone mobiles on OLX. The alleged persons took two I- phone mobiles from him and asked to go to ATM to withdraw money with them. He agreed upon the same and while he was parking his motorcycle, the said persons ran away in their car with the two brand new I mobile phones.
During the course of investigation, it was learnt that the complainant had put an advertisement of his I-Phone 12 pro on the OLX and one person Risabh had shown his interest in purchasing the same .Risabh had contacted Divyam regarding the same through the mobile of his friend Dharmender. As per their conversation, the two met at Kalindi Kunj metro station and Risabh came along with his friend Dharmender .
The police added that the said persons asked the complainant to show the phone on which he showed them I-phone 12 pro mobile golden colour. The two tried to negotiate the price of the said mobile in order to buy it for Rs. 60,000/- but the complainant did not accede to their negotiation demands as he was asking a price of Rs 88000/- for his mobile phone.
After that, Dharmender asked the complainant to show some another mobile on which the complainant showed him I-phone 12 pro max mobile and asked Rs 95000/- for it. The said persons got greedy on seeing two brand new mobile phones and suddenly agreed to pay the desired amount to the complainant. The said persons took both mobile phones from the complainant and told him to pay the amount after withdrawing money from the nearby ATM .They asked him to come along with them to the ATM and while the complainant was parking his motorcycle near the road side, the said persons fled away with both the mobile phones.
The police further stated that both the accused disclosed that they had gone to buy an i-phone for them but on seeing the two brand new mobile phones they got greedy. They befooled the complainant and ran away after taking the mobile phones without making a payment.
The police recovered two Iphones from the accused.
