Delhi CP Rakesh Asthana inaugurated ‘DP Active Fitness Centre’ at the Police Headquarters in Delhi.
The Delhi Police has stated a mission for the health of policemen under 'DP Active' and the gymnasium and fitness centre is part of the health mission.
The DP Active Mission has been conceptualized to enhance physical health and mental well-being amongst police personnel who otherwise suffer from long working hours, erratic schedules, work-related stress
Under this mission, a fully-functional Gymnasium, Yoga Centre and Workout Lounge has been established.
Speaking on the occasion, Delhi CP Rakesh Asthana emphasized upon the need for fitness amongst all ranks of the force so as to effectively meet the challenges of modern day policing and give our best contribution towards keeping the city safe and secure.
This facility will help them to work-out as per their convenient time and maintain a regular health routine. The family members and women officers can also avail the facilities of the health centre. Delhi Police plans to open more such fitness centres under the banned of ‘DP Active’ in other Districts and Units for regular use by its personnel.
After inauguration, the senior officers inspected the various equipment installed in the Gym. The equipments include Cardio machines (Treadmill, Cycle, Recumbent bike, Cross trainer, Rowing machine etc.) with several strength stations and can cater to multiple individuals. It has also Certified Fitness Trainers and Counselors, including two Physiotherapists and a Dietician to advise the users. All-in-one Yoga Room offers Yoga as well as other group activities like aerobics, dance fitness, HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) besides resistance core training material.
Spl CP Satyendra Garg, SBK Singh, Sanjay Baniwal, Sanjay Singh, Neeraj Thakur, Shalini Singh & Surender Singh Yadav were also present on this occasion.
