New Delhi, February 20
A team of the Narcotics Squad of South District has apprehended an alleged drug peddler near Khirki Extension at Panchsheel Enclave. 26 grams of heroin was recovered from him.
The officials said that the accused is a minor was allegedly being asked by his mother to sell contraband to the buyers.
The Narcotics cell had received information that a minor boy was found allegedly selling drugs in the areas based on which the police had set up a trap was laid to arrest the accused.
The peddlar was allegedly caught with the contraband and cash over Rs 16,000. The police found that the minor accused's mother is allegedly the main accused in the case but currently on the run. The police added that she was earlier caught under the Immoral Trafficking Act.
The police have launched a hunt to trace the woman and also alerted police stations in Jajarnath and Ranchi to trace her.
The accused has been booked under the Narcotic Control and Psychotropic Substances Act and Section 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act
