Sameer Wankhede's father files police complaint against minister Nawab Malik

New Delhi, November 9
IRS officer Sameer Wankhede's father filed a complaint of atrocities against Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik under the SC/ST Act. Wankhede was investigating the Cordelia Drugs bust case where Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was held following which officer Wankhede was recently transferred and cases were taken over by a Special Investigation Team of NCB Delhi.
The complaint has been filed with ACP Oshiwara in Mumbai.
In his complaint, Wankhede's father Dhyandev Wankhede stated, "Not only that, on several occasions, while doing interaction with the print media as well as the electronic media, the said accused Nawab Malik has made derogatory statements and allegations against me and my family regarding our caste. That I have the footage/videos of said press/news events as well as concerning news articles,” the written complaint read.
Dhyandev had also filed a defamation suit against Malik and sought damages to the tune of Rs 1.25 crore for allegedly making defamatory comments against his son and family through press conferences and via social media.
The suit stated that the statements by Malik that Wankhede is a Muslim amounted to questioning the religious beliefs of the family by disputing that they are not Hindus. The suit also sought directions to Malik to take back all defamatory statements made by him so far and also to delete all his tweets posted against the plaintiff and his family members.
"We belong to 'Mahar' community which comes under the Scheduled Caste category," he mentioned in the complaint.
He further alleged that Malik, owing to his personal grudge, went to the extent of "stalking" his daughter Yasmeen online and illegally used her personal photographs from her social media accounts like Instagram, Facebook, etc and circulated them in print and electronic media.
He demanded Malik be booked under Section 3 (punishments for offences of atrocities) of the SC/ST Act, Sections 499 (defamation), 503 (criminal intimidation) and 508 of the IPC and Section 66E (punishment for violation of privacy) of the IT Act for making false accusations regarding his family's caste.
Malik has termed the cruise drugs case as "fake" and levelled a string of allegations against Sameer Wankhede, including that he used forged documents to secure government job.
