New Delhi, January 24
A contingent of 140 Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel has been sent for training in Parliament complex as part of the new measure to frisk the visitors and their baggage from the Budget session that commences from January 31.
the decision was taken following the security breach incident of December 13 where smoke canisters were sprayed inside the Parliament during the sessions. The police had arrested five accused under UAPA.
After the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had formed a special investigation team led by CRPF DG Anish Dayal Singh to probe the breach incident, the higher authorities had also decided to rope in CISF for Parliament security. The probe of the SIT is still on.
The Centre had then asked the CISF to carry out a survey of Parliament premises for regular deployment.
The CISF is bring trained in frisking, checking, and getting familiarised with the dos and don't that will follow.
