New Delhi, July 12
The Delhi Traffic Police issued a notification curbing parking at S Block of Delhi High Court in Zakir Hussain Marg of the city.
DCP (Traffic) SK Singh in a letter said, "Whereas, it is necessary to ensure smooth flow of traffic, prevent congestion, safety of all road users and to avoid inconvenience to general public due to unauthorized parking of vehicles at Service Lane along “S” Block of Delhi High Court on Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg.
And whereas in view of the above-mentioned problems, it is necessary to control the parking of motor vehicles at Service Lane along “S” Block of Delhi High Court on Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg with an objective to ensure uninterrupted, safe and free management of traffic and safety of other road users.
Now, therefore, I, S.K. Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Headquarters (II), Delhi in exercise of the powers, conferred upon me under Regulation 3 (3) of Delhi Control of Vehicular and Other Traffic on Roads and Street Regulations, 1980 do hereby restrict the parking of all type of vehicles for 24 hrs. of the day at Service Lane along “S” Block of Delhi High Court on Dr. Zakir Hussain Marg, till further orders (except authorized parking lots)".
It further said that this order shall be published for the information of the general public in the official gazette and by affixing a copy on the notice boards of the office of all District Deputy Commissioner of Police and all Police Stations in Delhi/New Delhi.
The concerned civic road agencies maintaining the subject roads shall erect sufficient number of the corresponding informatory and mandatory signboards indicating the restriction on the road for the guidance and convenience of all road users, ir concluded.
