Hyderabad police chargesheets four police officers in phone tapping case

New Delhi, June 13

The Hyderabad Police has filed a chargesheet against four high-ranking police officials in connection with a phone tapping case.

Those chargesheeted include Deputy Superintendent of Police D Praneeth Rao, Additional Superintendent of Police Bhujanga Rao, and Tirupathanna Former Deputy Commissioner of Police (Task Force) Radha Kishan Rao. 

The police also registered a case against two absconding persons, identified as former chief of the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) Prabhakar Rao, and senior journalist Sravan Kumar.

The police had registered a case in the matter on March 10 and arrested Radhakishan Rao, Tirupathanna, Bhujanga Rao, and Pranith Rao in the case.

The accused police officials had illegally overheard the telephonic conversations of politicians, businessmen, journalists and others persons.
