New Delhi, July 11
The UP Police have roped in actor Rajkumar Rao for a campaign on online shopping frauds to spread awareness among the citizens.
The officials stated that actor Rajkumar Rao will make the campaign more effective in conveying the message of cybersecurity to the people. In future, the UP Police plans to engage more actors and sportspersons in its cybercrime awareness campaign.
The police stated that so far 5,432 people have been arrested and an amount of Rs 89.46 crore recovered from them in connection with cybercrimes.
Cyber police stations have been set up in 18 ranges in the state. A total of 91 posts of inspectors, 93 sub-inspectors, 51 head constables and 176 constables were created to tackle cybercrime. For effective supervision , 17 DSPs, 4 ASPs, 2 SPs and 1 IG have been approved for cyber stations, officials added.
