CBI apprehends ASI of Delhi police in bribery case

The accused demanded a bribe of Rs.30,000 from the complainant for not taking any action on the complaint lodged against his wife : CBI

New Delhi, February 24

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended accused Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Delhi Police from Police station Sunlight im New Delhi for demanding and accepting bribe amount of Rs 10,000/- from the complainant.

The CBI said that a case was registered by CBI on 20.02.2025 against accused Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) on allegations that said accused demanded a bribe of Rs.30,000 from the complainant for not taking any action on the complaint lodged against his wife. After negotiations, accused agreed to accept a bribe of Rs. 15,000 from the complainant.

The CBI laid a trap and caught accused ASI while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from complainant.
